Happy Back to School from A Geek In Glasses!
How many times do you buy the latest cartoon covered lunch box or book bag at the beginning of August only to find out that by the time school has started it’s old news and the kids want something else? Or after the lunch box, with the sticker on the front with the favorite of the week, has been loved for a couple of months it starts to look worn and may even start peeling.
This project can help with both problems. I started with a simple plastic sandwich box. There are many options out there for lunch boxes, so find a plain one and follow me.
I just used one of the standard Cricut cartridges that had the Matryoshka Dolls (nesting dolls) on. I used an indoor pink vinyl to cut my pieces out of.
Then I picked the design, removing the bits I didn’t want and rubbed on the transfer paper.
Next, I applied the design to a plain lunchbox and added some vinyl text to complete the design.
The vinyl is durable and removable. I have washed my box many times and had no problems with peeling.
So, as long as it is loved the design can stay, when I love something more – I just peel it off and start over again.
Think of all the other things you can personalize over and over again!? Water Bottles, pencil cases and more!
