Hey guys its Amber here from Life, Love, Green.
Today I’m going to show you 3 quick and simple uses for vinyl that you may not have thought of. I love all of the great things you can do with vinyl but sometimes you just really need to ‘do something crafty’ but you don’t really have the time. These are some great ways to incorporate vinyl into a project you already have going or maybe some quick decorating for the upcoming holiday. Either way nothing I did below took more than and hour and that includes the personalized blanket. So here you have it 3 quick and simple uses for vinyl.
- You can use vinyl on a piece of cardboard to use as holiday decorations, check out the heart in the middle of my “Wintery Valentines Day Wreath“
- Use iron on vinyl to make a “Simple Personalized blanket“
This was so easy I just reverse cut “Cooper” on to my iron on vinyl
Then I simply ironed it on with the only non steam temperature my iron has.
Made a little patch in and sewed around the edges to keep it clean looking.
Then I took 2-1 yard pieces of Minkee right sides in, sewed around them, flipped them right side out and hand stitched the last two inches, done!
Whats funny is my dog really likes it he actually carries it around with him some nights!
- Or you can use it to decorate your everyday counter items to make them stand out!

Never underestimate the use of transfer tape, this stuff is amazing. Keeps all the letters evenly spaced and lets you see where you are placing it.
The font is Cricut’s Lyrical Letters and the coffee cup and ‘steam’ are both from Gypsy Wonderings (only available on the gypsy.)
Hope you find some simple ways to use vinyl in one of your projects this week!

Love the ideas. I wish you all would do the monthly subscription to the projects like the ones displayed on your website!!!
Cute
Cute ideas! Thank you! I am currently working on my second vinyl project ever and so far are looking good. Thank you for giving me other ideas on how to use it!
I love the doggy blankie! I think my dog needs one. I have to ask-totally off topic here-is Cooper an Australian Labradoodle? My Mazey looks just like Cooper!
I’m loving your Cameo tutorials- Thank you! I wonder if you’d consider doing one on printing & cutting, using the Registration Marks option. I’m having trouble figuring this out. Thanks!
Unfortunately I use a Cricut but hopefully one of the other ladies will see this and be able to help you out.
