I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July! With Independence Day being over, I am still thinking about stars! When I had seen that Expressions Vinyl now carried Glow in the Dark Vinyl, I was so excited. My first thought was Stars. How fun would it be to do glow in the dark stars in my sons room!!!
I used my Cricut Expression and the Cricut Craft Room to cut out my stars and planets. It was so much fun and a great way to get my kids involved. Before I cut, I made sure to set my vinyl in the sun light for about a half an hour. This will make it glow brighter. When cutting the Glow in the Dark Vinyl, you will need to cut it twice. I set my blade at 6, pressure at 3, speed at 4. You may have to experiment a little to get it just right. This vinyl is a bit thick, but works wonders. After cutting, I just peeled off the backing and put it on my sons ceiling. I didn’t use transfer tape, although you can if you would like. Since our ceilings are textured, I had to make sure it was stuck on really good. The vinyl being exposed to sunlight during the day will help it “recharge” so it glows great at night.
I just love how it turned out and it was so simple to do! Enjoy!
