Hi! I am so happy to be joining you here today on Expressions Vinyl Blog! I am a huge fan of Expressions vinyl and I love their products and was so excited when they asked me to share some of my favorite projects made using their wonderful vinyl.
I don’t know about you or where you live, but I am in Tampa Florida and in the summer it rains everyday! You can get pretty tired of ruining your shoes stepping into a huge puddle. Needless to say I wear rain boots all the time. I picked up a few colors of plain rain boots on sale and wore them but something was missing. They needed some PIZAZZ! So what better way to make them fun than by adding some polka dots using my Expressions vinyl and my Silhouette SD machine!
Expressions Yellow outdoor vinylÂ
I programmed my Silhouette SD to cut out round circles in a desired size and then I place my 9×24 piece of vinyl inside and started to cut. I cut 24 yellow polka dots and 24 white polka dots. You can transfer with transfer tape or, like I did, I just individually peeled them by hand so that I can place each polka dot at random on the boots. Make sure you secure vinyl onto boots and got any air bubbles out.
The reason I LOVE this project for a beginner user of vinyl is that you really don’t need to use a vinyl cutter if you don’t have one. You can actually use a circle punch in a 2 or 3 inch size!
Looks much better with the polka dots, doesn’t it? Something is still missing, how about we add matching bows!
Now they’re perfect! I am very pleased with how they turned out! What do you think?
I will be visiting here once a month and sharing lots of fun projects using Expressions vinyl! I would love for you to come visit me over at Two Prince Bakery Theater! Hope you were inspired to make a fun vinyl project too.

These are so cute I can’t wait to see what else you can come up with!

LOVE these — I am always looking for cute rain boots, but I can never find them in my size! Now I can just look for some plain ones and dress them up myself! So many possibilities!
Thanks Amber it was so easy and turned out so cute! Can’t wait til it rains so I can wear them!
I tried this last spring and the vinyl would not stick to the the rubber boots. I even tried E6000 glue and vinyl pool glue and nothing worked. Did you have a special technique that made this work for you? Thanks!
Hi! I just tried to customize my rain boots, but the vinyl won’t stick. I am using cricut outdoor vinyl that I bought from expressions vinyl. Help please?!!
